About Bean

Bean Shindell

Dancer · Instructor · Founder

Bean Shindell is a ballet dancer, instructor, and founder of Barre & Beyond, bringing a lifetime of passion and professional experience to her work.

She began dancing at 18 months at Dancers' Workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, training under Ahita Ardalan Bergman of the Paris Opera Ballet. Bean has trained with renowned companies including Alonzo King's Lines Ballet, New York City Ballet, Eugene Ballet, and San Diego Ballet, where she held a full-time contract for three seasons.

Her repertoire spans leading roles in classics like Giselle, Coppélia, and The Nutcracker. With over a decade of teaching experience, Bean blends Vaganova and French techniques to develop placement, musicality, and artistry — integrating fitness and nutrition to help dancers refine technique, prepare for auditions, and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

In-person sessions take place at studios across the greater Denver area; travel to Vail, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins is available with drivetime fees. Pointe shoe fitting attendance is $90.
